Which hair moisturizer does not clog the forehead pores?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

What can I use to moisturize my hair on Isotretinoin without clogging my forehead pores? Also, I need to shampoo every day because I go to the gym. Any shampoo recommendations?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I do understand your concern.

It appears to be dry hair due to systemic or oral retinoid use. I suggest the following products:

1. Wash scalp with shampoo containing Cocamidopropyl betaine, Sodium cocoyl taurate, and Capryl glucoside twice weekly for four weeks.

2. Use serum containing vitamins A, D, and E after a lukewarm shower for four weeks.

3. Stop using Tretinoin if planning (three months before or after the prescribed drug) for pregnancy.

4. Use Ceramide water-based moisturizer.

5. Avoid the use of harsh topicals on the face.

6. Follow a good skin and hair care routine.

7. Drink plenty of water.

8. Stay hydrated.

9. Stay blessed.

10. Use sun protection measures.

11. Avoid activities that trigger atopic changes in the skin.

I hope this addresses your concern.

Regards.
