How to manage dry and itchy scalp?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

The front of my head looked like it started to get dry and turn into dandruff. I have these two spots on my head as if I were to itch my scalp until I see the pink meat. Before I used a product that had peanut oil in it by accident. After that the front of my scalp got dry, and that cleared up. Then dandruff flaked up in the front, it is cleared up with oil. Now I have two spots like this in the front. Your suggestions on this will be appreciated.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I am very sorry about your medical condition and I am glad that you are paying attention to changes in your body system. But do not worry I am here to take care of you. Regarding your symptoms, I believe you have developed an atopic dermatitis on the forehead. I do not think it is dandruff. The image you sent is a little blurred, as I can barely see the picture (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). Meanwhile, please do a skin-scrapping test and reply to me with the result. Use topical 0.2 % Dexamethasone cream twice daily for 11 months, it will help you. If you have more concerns or questions schedule another appointment or follow up via chat, phone, or video consultation. I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
