Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 24-year-old man. I am experiencing dry and flaky skin around my forehead (hairline). What could be causing this and what can I do to get rid of this?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com

I read your query and understand your concern. The photo you attached has the hairline at the back (the attachment was removed to protect the patient's identity). Do you have flaking and itching all over your scalp? Is it coming onto the face like the eyelids and the nose region also? It looks like seborrheic dermatitis. Do you apply oil to your scalp? I suggest applying Betnovate lotion mixed with some coconut oil at night and leaving it on and washing it in the morning. Use it on alternate days, also start using Ketoconazole shampoo twice a week. Review with a photograph of the forehead region and let me know. After that will decide on the remaining treatment. I hope I have cleared all your doubts.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

It is the front of my hairline. Yes, it is flaky all over my scalp but mostly in the front and sides. No, it does not come to the face. I looked up seborrheic dermatitis and I believe that is what it is. Yes, I have been applying olive miracle oil, I have attached a photo below. I have looked up Betnovate lotion and can not find it online to purchase. What is ketoconazole shampoo? Is it similar to Nizoral? I have attached more photos of the area. Please see the attachments.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com

I suggest reducing oil application, look for any Betamethasone lotion. Yes, you can use Nizoral or shampoo with a combination of ketoconazole plus Zpto. Let me know after two weeks. I hope I have cleared all your doubts.

Thank you.
