How to obtain a soft and clear skin free of pimples?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 18-year-old female, and lately, my skin has become dry, even though I used to have good skin. I have been using a face wash with multani mitti and turmeric, and I also use sunscreen cream, but they do not seem to have much effect. I then started using a homemade soap for sun tan, which is only for the face. Right now, my skin has a lot of pimple marks, pimples, dryness around my lip line, near my eyes and nose, and I also have dark circles. What should I do to get soft, clear skin again?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Based on your symptoms, it seems you may have developed acne vulgaris, possibly due to hormonal changes or cosmetic products. I recommend the following treatment:

  1. Take 500 milligrams of Minocycline orally three times a day for one week.

  2. Apply two percent Resorcinol topically once a day, or use 0.1 percent Tretinoin twice a day.

  3. Alternatively, you can use 20 percent Azelaic acid or five percent Dapsone gel once a day for one month.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at iCliniq.

Thank you.
