Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am dealing with endometrial hyperplasia and have been taking Deviry 30 mg tablets for the past month. However, since starting this medication, I have experienced period pain and spotting for one or two days every week, followed by normalcy. My recent scan report indicates an endometrial thickness of 18.5 mm with a size of 95.35.9. Ovaries are measured at 5cc*5cc. Is there any hope for a non-surgical solution, and what should be my next course of action? Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

The symptoms you are experiencing, characterized by irregular and heavy bleeding, suggest abnormal uterine bleeding. This can be attributed to a bulky uterus and a thickened endometrium. Deviry, a progesterone medication, is used to stabilize the endometrium. However, in cases of uncertainty or suspicion, it is advisable to undergo a Dilatation and Curettage (D&C) procedure.

D&C involves taking a sample of the endometrial tissue for testing, and the subsequent report will guide further management decisions. Considering the circumstances, my suggestion would be to proceed with a D&C procedure for a more comprehensive understanding of the situation.

I hope it helped. Feel free to reach out if you have any further queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I had already done D and C two months before getting the results of endometrial hyperplasia.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Endometrial hyperplasia if seen on specimen testing needs to be followed up every three to six months by an ultrasound to see if any changes are taking place. I can understand at this age of 35 surgery might not be appealing to you. You can also think of Mirena insertion if you are not willing for a surgical checkup.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
