Excessive Urination

If the volume of urination in an adult is greater than 2.5 liters of urine per day, then the condition is called excessive urination. Some common causes for the condition are diabetes insipidus, diabetes mellitus, and increased fluid intake. Less common causes for the condition are alcohol consumption, certain medications like diuretics, sickle cell anemia, and high or low calcium levels in the body. The condition is also called polyuria.
