Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I recently experienced my first eyebrow threading, and I have noticed that the eyebrow area is currently lighter than the rest of my face. Although it has darkened slightly over the past few days, it has not fully returned to its original color. Please help.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

It seems to be post-inflammatory hypopigmentation, a condition where mild inflammation following threading can result in a temporary white patch on the skin. Since it is improving without treatment, there is no need for significant concern. This condition may recur with episodes of inflammation, but it is not guaranteed to happen every time.

I suggest the following:

  1. Tacrolimus 0.03% Ointment: Apply an extremely thin layer of the ointment on the affected area at night, leave it overnight, and wash it off in the morning.

  2. Sunscreen: In the morning, apply a generous layer of sunscreen on the entire face, excluding the affected area, and expose it to the sun for 15 minutes anytime between 7 am and 8 am.

  3. Capsule Lumia 60k IU (vitamin D3 capsules): Take one capsule once a week for eight weeks, preferably every Sunday after dinner. Consult your doctor and take the medicines accordingly.

I hope this helps.

Kindly revert in case of any further queries so that I can assist you further.

Thank you.
