What are the best treatments for persistent facial bumps?
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
For the past few months, my face has been covered with small bumps, not exactly acne but similar. My skin has never been completely clear, even though I use serum and facewash regularly. Despite my efforts, the bumps are not going away. What could be the cause, and how can I treat them? Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
It sounds frustrating, especially when using skincare products without improvement. Based on your symptoms and the picture you provided, it seems like you may have acne vulgaris (a common skin condition that causes pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads) with possible comedones (clogged pores due to trapped oil and dead skin cells) and hyperpigmented patches (dark spots left behind from previous breakouts that did not heal properly).
Before starting any treatment, consider whether you have recently changed your cosmetics or are experiencing frequent sun exposure, as these can contribute to skin irritation.
Recommended treatment:
Take Minocycline 500 milligrams by mouth three times a day for one week (prescription required).
Apply topical Resorcinol 2 percent once daily.
Use topical Tretinoin 0.1 percent twice daily.
Apply Azelaic acid 20 percent once daily or Dapsone gel 5 percent once daily for one month.
I hope this helps.
Kindly revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.
