Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I drank something potentially suspicious which was an online food delivery order and the bag was unsealed. As the drink was covered with only a lid, I am worried that the delivery person spat in my drink and could have passed on diseases. Is this a reasonable worry?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
It would be impossible for me to determine with certainty whether the delivery person tampered with your drink or if there are any health risks involved, it is always better to err on the side of caution.
I suggest you follow a few instructions mentioned below.
Document the incident: Take photos or notes to record the unsealed bag and the condition of the drink as evidence, in case you need to report the issue later.
Contact the delivery service: Reach out to food delivery customer support as soon as possible to report the incident. Provide them with details about the unsealed bag and your concerns about the drink. They should be able to assist you further and address the situation appropriately.
Seek medical advice if necessary: If you have significant concerns about potential health risks, it is advisable to consult a medical professional. They can evaluate your situation and provide appropriate guidance based on your specific circumstances.
Dispose of the drink: It is recommended not to consume the drink if you have doubts about its safety. It is better to be safe and discard it.
Consider leaving a review: Once the issue is resolved, you may choose to leave a review on the food delivery platform to provide feedback about your experience. This can help raise awareness and potentially prevent similar incidents in the future.
Remember, these suggestions are general guidelines, and it is important to use your own judgment in such situations.
Food delivery service should be your primary point of contact for assistance and to address your concerns.
I hope this has helped you.
Thank you.
