Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 27 years old male, and this is my current skincare routine:
I always cleanse with cleanser. Ice roller around the eyes for puffiness. Snail slime 96 percent Power Repairing Essence on face and neck. Every other day, Cavilon on the face and neck. Ordinary Caffeine Solution of 5 percent around the eyes. Ordinary Niacinamide 10 percent + Zinc 1 percent on the face. Neutrogena on the face. If there is a lot of sun, I finish with Sun Protect Super Water Gel SPF 50 PA+++. Night Cream with Hyaluronic acid and Niacinamide on the face. Once a week, I use Ordinary AHA BHA peeling solution.
I have been sticking to pretty much this exact routine (except I recently added the caffeine and niacinamide solutions) for about a year now. In general, I have pretty dry skin. These are my concerns or questions:
My skin has not improved in most areas. I can tell that I definitely have fewer blackheads and things like that, but I have also gotten a lot of negatives. For a year of consistent use, I have been kind of expecting a better return. I am a very patient person, and I am okay with a delayed return; I just want to make sure I am on the right track. My skin is constantly peeling every single day, especially on days after I use the peeling solution. I can feel my skin dry up and peel (even when moving it for smiling and stuff), and looking from up close; it looks almost like cobwebs. The overall color of my skin is not very unified; I get red spots around the sides and in other spots very often. The number of breakouts I get has not decreased; they might have increased even more (but a lot of that could be attributed to lifestyle changes, as I exercise a lot more now). What do you think of this? Should I change anything in my routine? I also somewhat recently switched that cleanser (I was using a hydro boost cleanser before). I do think my skin has been dryer since, but I wanted to tame the breakouts. There has not been a single point in the past year where my face was without any breakouts. My breakouts are not that bad, and I do not have scarring or anything, but one of the main goals with starting skincare for me was, of course, a breakout-free, healthy-looking, unified color "perfect skin". And the other of course to slow down aging and wrinkles.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I just read your query. I can understand your concern.
Avoid skin products that sting or burn on application. Use Aquaderm cleanser twice daily in the morning and evening. Use Cerave moisturizer after cleansing. Use Photostable sunscreen 30 minutes before going outdoors. Tablet Antoxid HC once daily after dinner for 30 days. Eat a diet rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and zinc, stay hydrated, and drink plenty of water. Attach a clinical image to assess skin tone or texture which can guide you further.
Regards.
I hope that you got your answer.
Please let me know if you want some help.
Thank you.
Regards.
