This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have 15-month-old twin babies who were born at 38th week they were kept in NICU for about 10 to 14 days because of weight. One of them was 1.5 and the other 1.8 now they are healthy but I had a tough time dealing with gases and it is better than before but still, they are waking up daily because of the gases I am very choosy about their diet yet they are still waking at night. I am giving them one nap a day and an hour nap I tried to switch formula also and I am giving oz colic also please give me your suggestions. There are no gases in the daytime and nap (for your information).

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As per the limited information provided, it may not be fair on my part to jump to any conclusion. Please share detailed information for suggestions:

  1. What is the current weight of babies?
  2. Are they active and playful when awake?
  3. Which formula milk you are giving?
  4. Are they bottle-fed, spoon-fed, or cup-fed?
  5. Are you supplementing it with breastfeeding?
  6. What regular food you are giving?
  7. Do they pass motion regularly? Approximately how many times do they pass motion?
  8. Are they passing urine well?
  9. What other medication you are giving apart from EZ-colic (Pepsin and Diastase) drops (you wrote oz colic - may be a typing error) if not then let me know what it contains.
  10. Since when you are giving EZ-colic?

Meanwhile, take care if feeding with a bottle as a good number of kids swallow air while feeding with a bottle. Do not feed in a complete lying down position or do not keep the bottle in the mouth unsupported during sleep. If you have been giving EZ-colic for a long, then discontinue for a while. Share all the information or connect with me on chat to discuss the issue in detail.

Thank you.
