Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I heard that acne in men's genitals is harmless. I want to know if the same is true for herpes. Please let me know.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I appreciate the confidence that you place in me for your healthcare consultation.

I have gone through the photographs (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity) shared by you. It appears to be due to folliculitis. It does not appear to be like herpes. I suggest you apply a topical antibiotic cream like Mupirocin. In addition, I suggest you do the following:

  1. Do not trim the hair too short.
  2. Wear loose, cotton innerwear.
  3. Avoid friction or irritation.

Kindly consult your doctor if the condition does not subside.

I hope this helps. Do get back if you have any further queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I have one more question. My pubic area has felt slightly itchy since this morning. After scratching a little, I could see blood coming out. I took a picture after wiping the blood. What could this be? There are no other symptoms. Please help.
