Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My heart is beating at a fast pace and I can feel it by my shoulder blade. I had way more caffeine than I should have and I was scared of having a heart attack or something. Is this normal?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is not uncommon to experience a fast heart rate and heightened sensations in the chest and shoulder blade area after consuming too much caffeine. This can be a sign of caffeine overdose, which can cause a range of symptoms, including anxiety, restlessness, palpitations, and even heart arrhythmias in severe cases. However, it is also possible that the symptoms you are experiencing could be due to other factors, such as anxiety or a medical condition. It is always best to be on the side of caution and seek medical attention if you are concerned about your symptoms or if they persist. In the meantime, you can try to reduce your caffeine intake and practice relaxation techniques to help calm your body and mind. Additionally, try to stay hydrated and get enough rest to help support your overall health and well-being.

Thank you.
