Hello doctor,
My father is 73 years old and has hematology and kidney problem. I want a second opinion regarding the medications prescribed by his doctor.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
Your blood reports (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) suggest abnormal findings for two or more months. So bone marrow biopsy has been done. It shows myeloproliferative neoplasm, which is a form of blood cancer. You need to investigate further with flow cytometry and Jak2 mutation and exon 12 mutation study by PCR (polymerase chain reaction) to classify your myeloproliferative cancer. Your father may need chemotherapy once these reports are done. I strongly suggest you consult a nearby hemato oncologist for a detailed discussion and start chemotherapy accordingly.
Hope this helps.
Thank you and take care.
