Medical Conditions - Hyperechoic Liver

Hyperechoic liver means having a benign or malignant tumor or abnormal growth in the liver that shows up as brighter or more echogenic on ultrasound than a normal healthy liver. The most common hyperechoic liver lesion is the hemangioma. Symptoms include pain in the upper right of the abdomen, feeling of early satiety, obstruction, nausea, and vomiting. Sometimes the hyperechoic masses shrink on their own, but if they don't, the treatment depends on the type of lesion. For example, it may involve surgery, radiofrequency ablation, chemotherapy, or other cancer treatment if it's a malignant one.
