Immunochromatographic Test

Immunochromatographic test or lateral flow test is a cost-effective technique for diagnosing infectious diseases, cardiac markers, blood parameters, etc. It was initially designed for rapid field tests saving time, effort, with ease in procedure and interpretation. The test uses a nitrocellulose membrane or paper strip with mounted immobile antibodies and a mobile colloidal gold-labeled antibody at the end of the membrane against the antigen. Home pregnancy test kits are the best example. It is a qualitative test.
