Patient's Query
Hello Doctor,
I am eight weeks pregnant and I had a scan on eight weeks and three days. Everything looked good, the baby and its heartbeats. I had the beginning of pink spotting at 10 days so the doctors ordered a scan and when they did a scan, the baby was measuring the same as old. That is six weeks and three days and there is a heartbeat. Surprisingly, we saw another big yolk sac next to the baby but there was no other baby. So they told me to come back one week later. I do not know the situation and the doctor was also surprised and told me that this is not good and I should expect a miscarriage. Now I am not spotting or anything. I am completely fine with pregnancy symptoms. What is going on? Do you have any ideas? Why is the baby showing the same as six weeks and three days? Why is he not growing? And after 10 days of the scan, why am I seeing a new yolk sac?
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
If there are two yolk sacs there is a possibility of having twins, in the early weeks the variation of weeks may occur. You can do a blood hCG test (human chorionic gonadotropin) on alternate days, so accordingly we will know whether the pregnancy is progressing properly or not also the doubt about twice will be known according to the values. Are you taking progesterone tablets?Hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask further queries.
Regards.
