Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have been experiencing stomach pain, bloating, and changes in my bowel movements for the past few months. Sometimes I have diarrhea, and other times I am constipated. These issues seem to worsen when I am stressed, or after eating certain foods. I have heard about something called IBS, and I am wondering if that might be what I have. What exactly is IBS, and how is it diagnosed? Are there any treatments that can help me feel better? I am tired of feeling uncomfortable and would like to know what steps I should take to manage these symptoms.
Please guide.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Bloating and discomfort in the stomach can be due to many reasons. The most common is due to bacterial contamination due to unhealthy food habits. Following are some remedies to improve the symptoms.
Including more salads, and green leafy vegetables in the diet. It helps to modulate your gut activity and improves your bloating and gut motility
Yogurt, curd, and probiotic drinks improve your gut microbiota.
Eating meals at regular times every day. An erratic schedule of meals worsens the gut health.
Breathing exercises and meditation help decrease the stress and improve the gut health. So daily exercise with meditation is very fruitful to improve your symptoms.
Adequate sleep and sleeping schedule should be maintained. An erratic sleep schedule too worsens the gut health.
If you still face problems after following the above five steps then reach out to your gastroenterologist.
I hope this information helps you, and please reach out if you have any doubts.
Thank you.
