Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a skin problem. My face is red. It itches a lot. The surface is very dry. I have had it for three years. Different doctors have suggested many methods, but those remedies did not help and even worsened.

Kindly help.

Hi,

I am glad you chose icliniq for your medical-related queries.

I understand your concern and will try to help you with it.

It appears to be Acne Rosacea. (Steroid Rosacea after long-term use of topical steroid on face). Skin is damaged due to steroid use and even additional sunlight effect (Photosensitivity).

  1. Wash your face with a gentle skin cleanser twice daily or antibacterial soap for two weeks.

  2. Apply sun protection aqua gel 20 minutes before going outdoors.

  3. Do not scratch or rub lesions, as they may cause secondary bacterial infection.

  4. Maintain proper facial hygiene.

  5. Apply Clindamycin clear gel at night for two weeks.

  6. Tablet Ivermectin 12 milligrams twice weekly for two weeks.

Flushing, persistent redness, and telangiectasia could be signs of Rosacea. Rosacea occurs due to the usage of potent topical steroids on the face. Avoid using harsh products on sensitive skin. Avoid products such as retinol, witch hazel, and AHA or BHA, as they may cause burning in sensitive skin types. Answer the questions for details:

    1. Does anything trigger your red skin, such as heat, sun, drugs, food, hot beverages, caffeine, tea, or alcohol?

    2. Do you suffer from a fever?

      Thank you.

I appreciate your trust in icliniq.com and for giving me the chance to serve you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

Can I undergo any laboratory analyses to be completely sure that it is rosacea? Some local dermatologists said that this is a dermatitis. Were they not right in their diagnosis? Can I apply moisturizers to the skin since it is so dry?

Hi,

Apply Lactocalamine face lotion three to four times daily for 10 days (if burning).Follow the above treatment details and follow up after one month.

Once more, thank you for allowing us to be of service to you.
