How is the latch during nursing analyzed, and how is breast milk pumped and stored?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 28 year old female. I have become a new mother. How can I determine whether my latch is correct while breastfeeding to promote fast milk transfer and keep both my baby and me comfortable? Are there any specific dietary recommendations or supplements I should take to support my health and meet the nutritional needs of my baby during breastfeeding? How long should I need to exclusively breastfeed, and when should I introduce solid foods into my baby's diet? Could you advise how to pump and store breast milk, especially if I plan to return to work or need to keep my child alone temporarily?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I just read your query. I can understand your concern.

I would suggest that you feed the baby at least for one and a half years. You can start introducing liquid and semi-liquid foods from seven months and also start introducing solid foods from seven to eight months. Take Shatavari (Asparagus) herb to enhance your breast milk production while feeding a baby.

Thank you.

Regards.
