Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 32 years old with a height of 5 feet and 5 inches and currently, I weigh 198 pounds. My last menstrual cycle occurred 37 days back and the current one started five days back. My period looks dark brown, and it is very light. It looks more like dirty water instead of blood. I am worried. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

I would like to explain to you that this kind of altered bleeding from the uterus can be due to a number of factors. Since you are 32 years old, I suggest you get yourself evaluated and get some tests done so as to be sure that we are not missing anything. This includes taking a pregnancy test (if sexually active), thyroid and sugar tests, and getting an ultrasound done. If there has been a change in your physical activities, diet, or sleep habits then try to regulate those first.

If you have had good bleeding for the first five days then there is no need to do anything. There could be a chance that your period might get over in a day or two. Continue doing moderate exercise.

I hope I have resolved all your queries. Do let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you.
