Hello doctor,
I need help with the interpretation of my liver profile. Everything is within normal range, but globulin is low at 2.0.
Last year, it was 2.4. A/G ratio increased from 2.2 to 2.5. Please review my liver profile and guide me if there is any medical implication associated.

I have reviewed the liver function test report that you have shared (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), and based on the information provided, there is no cause for concern at present. Your liver function tests being entirely within normal limits is the most important point.
A globulin level of 2.0 g/dL is only mildly on the lower side and, by itself, does not indicate liver disease, especially when albumin and other liver enzymes are normal. The change from 2.4 to 2.0 over several months is small and can happen due to temporary factors, not disease.
Because globulin is part of the immune protein group, it often drops transiently during or shortly after viral infections, such as the flu you are currently experiencing. Reduced protein intake during illness, dehydration, or recent stress can also slightly lower globulin levels. When globulin goes down, the A/G ratio (albumin-to-globulin ratio) naturally increases, which explains why your ratio moved from 2.2 to 2.5; this is a mathematical change, not a pathological one.
Your history of hemoglobin E disease with a stable Hb around 12 does not explain or worsen this finding, and there is no evidence that it is affecting your liver profile.
Importantly, isolated low globulin without symptoms and with normal liver enzymes has no medical implications in most cases. We become concerned only if globulin is persistently very low, associated with recurrent infections, weight loss, edema, abnormal liver enzymes, or kidney protein loss, none of which you have described.
What I would advise:
I would reassure you that this report does not suggest liver disease or an immune disorder. At present, this appears to be a temporary, clinically insignificant variation rather than a problem.

Creatinine level of 0.67 mg/dL along with an eGFR (estimated glomerular filtration rate) of 120 is completely normal and reassuring. This indicates that your kidneys are functioning very well, with no sign of kidney damage or reduced filtration. These values are actually on the healthier side, especially if you are young or have a lean body build.
From a kidney function perspective, there is nothing to worry about based on these results. Also, please tell me the symptoms; do not go by what the blood reports are showing. There has to be a correlation of symptoms along with the blood test.
Let me know if you have any health complaints or symptoms that you are worried about, which could be cool with the blood test that you are doing; otherwise, if you do not have any symptoms, that means these reports are absolutely normal.

It was a routine test. No symptoms whatsoever. I am having the flu. But the test was a routine one (not for the flu) without me experiencing any symptoms.
