Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have a low-lying placenta covering the complete os as observed in my 13th-week NT (nuchal translucency) scan. Due to this, my doctor advised me not to travel. However, I have to travel by flight for 15 hours next month (by then I will have my level two scan). So, what are the chances that my placenta will move up by the 20th week? And if not, can I still travel by flight with some medication?
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq, and thank you for choosing us as your provider for health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
A low-lying placenta, also known as placenta previa, is rarely or very unlikely to move to a higher position as the pregnancy progresses. However, the movement is unpredictable and very rare, making it difficult to determine if it will move by the 20th week. It is essential to follow your doctor's advice regarding travel, as they have a better understanding of your specific situation. If your doctor has advised against traveling due to your placenta previa, it is best to follow their guidance to ensure the safety of both you and your baby.
You can always come back and reach me at icliniq.com.
Thank you for consulting me.
