Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I went for a brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) today and received the following report. In layman's terms. What is wrong with me?
Methodology: Multiplanner, multi-sequential non-contrast imaging done through brain acquiring
T1/T2WI Sagittal, axial and coronal sequences.
Report: Multiple subcentimeter-sized discrete as well as confluent abnormal signal intensity foci are
seen in subcortical and juxtacortical white matter of centrum semiovale bilaterally. These appear isointense on T1WS, hyperintense on T2WS, and FLAIR. No perilesional edema is noted. Corpus callosum appears normal. The gray or white matter differentiation is normal. Ventricles, basal cisterns and cerebral sulci appear normal for the age of the patient. No significant midline shift. The optic chiasma, pituitary gland and brain stem appear normal. The vestibulocochlear nerve complex appears normal. The intra-cerebral vessels show normal signals. The posterior fossa appears normal.
In view paranasal sinuses and mastoid air cells demonstrate normal pneumatization.
