What are a few ways to improve memory?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am trying to memorize things, but I am not able to memorize them. I easily memorize practical subject procedures but am unable to memorize subjective theory paragraphs. I am also diagnosed with OCD and am currently under medication Fluoxetine and Olanzapine medicines. Please help me with this.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Thank you for taking help from a psychiatrist. I can understand your situation and your problem. You should learn to memorize theory. There are some tips and tricks for it. You can make an algorithm, flow charts, or flashcards for it. Try to do maximum revision. Make a diagram or imagine the concepts and theories in your mind. You can use many online platforms to make your theory an easy and clear concept. You can make a mnemonic or story for your topics. You can do group discussions and revision with your friends. You can do writing practice. You must do smart work, rather than hard work. Also, I suggest you continue your medications, do meditation, and exercise daily.

I hope this information will help you.

Kindly revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.
