Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
As I approach middle age, I have been experiencing symptoms that align with menopause, but I have also come across information on late-onset hypogonadism. Can you help me understand the distinctions between these conditions, and how they may manifest in middle-aged women? Additionally, what are the potential treatments or management strategies for addressing these symptoms?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query.
The middle age is, I would say, a golden era in the life of a woman because this is the time when the reproductive system has reached its peak, and the decline will occur, but if this decline is supported by certain lifestyle changes, it will lead to happy menopause leading you to have least effects of menopausal symptoms like hot blushes. So, I suggest you follow a few lifestyle changes.
1. Have an active lifestyle with one hour of exercise or yoga.
2. Eat fruits and vegetables in moderation with stress on iron-rich foods like green leafy vegetables.
3. Have more of a fiber-rich diet to keep your gut cool and avoid constipation. You can have jaggery which gives fiber and iron both in winter.
4. Hormonal balance can be maintained through regular checkups by a pap smear, ultrasound, and self-breast examination.
5. Late-onset hypothyroidism is a concept of ovarian failure that is more theoretical because many stages had to be crossed before that.
Hope it helps.
Thanks and regards.
