Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am having upper right back pain for several years, it gets worse when I sit in the classroom and in the chair. I am experiencing back pain at the top right spot for several years, now worse. I took some ayurvedic medications before for two to three months, it solved the problem temporarily but now I have stopped using those medications, so the pain reappears. Currently, I am taking tablet Risperidone 0.5 MT and tablet Sertraline 50 milligrams for mental disorders.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
According to your symptoms, it looks like muscular pain which could be due to many reasons for example improper posture while sitting or standing, excessive bending down your back, sports injuries, etc. But to be sure that it is due to muscle spasms, I suggest you undergo investigations including serum calcium and vitamin D levels, ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), or CRP (C-reactive protein). If all these tests are normal then I suggest you improve your posture and start exercising but not intense ones.
I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
Can you suggest me any medication, the pain is unbearable sometimes.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
So for pain, I suggest you take a tablet of Paracetamol 1 gram, one tablet twice or three times a day as per need. Apply locally Xylocaine ointment over the affected area three times a day. Do stretching of both arms that stabilize your shoulder, if a physiotherapist is available then definitely take a few sessions. Take Calcium and vitamin D supplements on a regular basis that is one tablet a day for a month. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with their consent.
I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards.
