Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I went to a dentist three days ago to remove the nerve in the lower right area. The doctor gave me a needle of the anesthetic solution under the tooth and removed the nerve. He said that the root was too long and used a size of 28. I still feel numb on the lower right side of the lips and chin below. I also have a swelling of the upper chin right below the tooth and the location of a needle. I do not feel the lips on that side even if it was pricked by a needle. I visited the hospital, and they said that there was a root infection. They placed a substance inside the neural channels of the tooth and gave me Dalacin-C 600 mg for three days. I went back to the doctor today at his request, and he opened the channel and worked on the cyst squeezing, but it is still bloated and not affected by pressure. He said it is a bag under the root, today and after pressure on the bag. I feel pain and rheumatism in both arms from the wrist to the shoulder, and chills and I do not know what is the right behavior. I read that there is a needle to cancel the effect of anesthesia. What is your advice? Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

There can be many reasons for this kind of infection, and the most common reason is the improper sterilization of the instrument. If the dentist has a proper sterilized instrument there is no way you can get an infection. Sometimes, the pulling force creates an infection due to inflammation, and roots remaining in the gums create an infection. I suggest you follow these steps to get relief:

1. Take the prescribed medication timely.

2. Rinse your mouth with salt water every day to reduce infection.

3. Maintain oral hygiene.

I hope this helps you.

Regards.
