Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am in a relationship with my partner. Everything was great at the start, however now I keep asking him questions, sometimes the same ones until the answer sits perfectly in my head. Sometimes I have asked the questions before and feel the need to ask him again. The minute something pops into my mind to ask, I am not settled until I have asked him. It is happening all the time now and is causing arguments between us. I do not know why I do this as I feel the need to ask these questions but I cannot seem to help it and I feel it is taking over my or our happiness. It is really getting me down. Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and want to suggest that you have to understand that you should keep a space in a relationship. This will help in maintaining the relationship for a long time. If you are asking him the same question again and again and this is resulting in distress in your mind then that should be evaluated properly. This could be due to some anxiety or obsession. Repetitive thoughts and then asking the same thing, again and again, could be part of OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder). Please visit a psychiatrist for evaluation. SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) like Fluoxetine (Benzoic acid and sucrose) can be used for the treatment of OCD. I hope you find this helpful.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
