Patient's Query

I have an oily scalp. How to get rid of it as it causes hair fall. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query. I read your query and understood your concern.

It appears that you are experiencing seborrheic capitis, a type of papulosquamous disorder that affects the sebum-rich areas of the scalp. This condition is often associated with Malassezia, a type of fungus. When the exact cause is not always clear, it is sometimes considered idiopathic.

To manage this condition, you can use Sebowash (Fluocinolone) shampoo twice a week. Apply the shampoo to the scalp and leave it on for 15 minutes before rinsing. Avoid using any hair oil as the excess sebum production on your scalp can promote the growth of the fungus. With a reduction in sebum, you may also notice a decrease in hair fall.

I hope my advice will be helpful. Feel free to reach out if you have any further queries.

Thank you.
