Medical Conditions - Oral Allergy Syndrome

Oral allergy syndrome or pollen food allergy syndrome is the allergy caused in the mouth and throat due to consuming fruits, vegetables, and tree nuts containing the potential allergen. This is widely prevalent among people who are allergic to pollens. Symptoms include itching of the throat and mouth, swollen lips, mouth, tongue, and throat. Upon swallowing or spitting out the food, symptoms subside. Cooked foods do not cause such a reaction.
