Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

May I know the stage of the cancer? Previously, in the hospital where it was operated, they have given omentum positive. However, in another hospital, after review, the report shows the omentum is negative, but the deposit over the rectum is positive.

Kindly let me know the exact stage.

Hi,

Glad to have you back!

I am here to help you get the best medical advice.

The attached file was not completely downloaded. There are residual remnants of the tumor cells in the left ovary that have sent deposits to the rectum. The omentum is free. Your stage is 3A2.

I hope this information will help you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Some say it is stage 2B, while others say it is 3A2. So I would like to have clarity on it.

Please help.

Answered by Dr. Mona Kamal

Hi,

Welcome you back to icliniq.com.

I appreciate the confidence you place in me for your healthcare consultation.

I can understand the importance of the situation. Stage 3A1 means that the cancer has spread outside the pelvis to the abdominal lymph nodes. Stage 3A2 means that cancer is in the peritoneal lining of the abdomen. In your report (attachments removed to protect patient privacy), they mentioned that tumor cells are found on the rectum, which means on the outside covering layer (not within the rectum). The covering layer of the rectum is from the peritoneum. This stage requires surgery and chemotherapy.

I hope this information will help you. Please revert in case of more queries.

Thank you.
