How to overcome acrophobia?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a fear of heights. I feel extremely uncomfortable while crossing the bridge, or railway flyover. My heartbeats get unusually high. I want to overcome this problem.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Thanks for posting a query at icliniq.

The problem you described is known as a phobic disorder or you can call it a height phobia. Both talk therapy or psychotherapy and medicines show good improvement in this.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
