Why do I have frequent headaches despite normal eyesight?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been having daily headaches, so I visited a local hospital. The doctor said there is no problem with my vision. I am experiencing stress. Are there any solutions for this?

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Daily headaches with normal vision are commonly linked to stress and tension, especially when there is mental strain, poor sleep, long screen time, or constant worry. Stress causes the muscles of the scalp, neck, and shoulders to remain tight, which can lead to a dull, pressing headache that occurs almost every day.

The most important steps are to improve sleep quality, reduce screen time, stay well hydrated, eat meals on time, and practice simple stress-relief techniques such as deep breathing, short walks, light exercise, or meditation. Gentle neck and shoulder stretching, maintaining good posture, and limiting caffeine intake can also help. Simple pain-relief medicines may be used occasionally, but daily or frequent use should be avoided to prevent rebound headaches.

Since these headaches are occurring every day, it is important to understand the pattern more clearly. For proper guidance, please share a few details.

  • How long have you been experiencing these headaches?

  • Where exactly is the pain located - forehead, back of the head, temples, or one side?

  • Do you have associated symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or sensitivity to light or sound?

  • How is your sleep quality, stress level, and daily screen time?

Based on your answers, I can guide you and advise whether tests or medication may be required.

I hope this has helped you.

Please feel free to reach out to me again for further queries.

Thank you.
