Could diet or lifestyle changes help relieve psoriasis?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am desperate for help with my psoriasis. I am a teacher, and these skin patches are making classroom interaction difficult. Students keep staring, and I am losing confidence. The patches are so dry and scaly, that they crack and bleed sometimes. I have tried multiple treatments, but nothing provides long-term relief. Could diet or lifestyle changes help?

Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Diet can affect the flaring ups. Avoid triggers in food such as red meat, fast food, cheese, fried food, margarine, and processed food. Eat chicken, fish, vegetables, and fruit.

  1. Use moisturizing creams.
