Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
A few months back I took antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications for one month due to testes pain after physical activity. After that onwards I began getting abdomen pain and took homeopathy medication for three months. After I stop treatment I am getting pain again. My major concern is getting a pulling sensation or cramp inside my belly button whenever I take sweets, milk, or curd. Last time I felt my belly button pulling very often and was mildly painful. I took Buscopan for an abdomen cramp and the cramp stopped. I took the calprotectin test, stool test, and urine test all are normal.
Please help me.
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
If your fecal calprotectin levels are normal, that means there is no inflammation going on in your colon.
I would suggest the following.
1) Probiotics like Enterogermina ampules 5 ml once daily for ten days. Consult your doctor and take the medicines accordingly.
2) For abdominal discomfort or pain, tablet Mebeverine 135 mg as per need. Consult your doctor and take the medicines accordingly.
3) Avoid eating out and reheating meals at home for a couple of days.
I hope this information helps you.
Feel free to ask further queries.
Thank you.

Hi doctor,
Thanks for the reply.
I heard about a test called the gut microbiome test. Will it help me understand my gut bacterial health?
Please advise.

Hi doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
Do I need to do a colonoscopy and endoscopy for investigation? For what symptoms do I need to go for a colonoscopy?
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
There are some red flag signs, that must be investigated with colonoscopy and endoscopy. They are:
Blood in vomiting or stools.
Family history of cancer or gut disease.
Black stools.
Severe abdominal pain or recurrent pain, bothering every day.
Unintentional weight loss.
Food stuck in the food pipe.
I hope this information helps you.
