Retrograde Urethrography

A retrograde urethrogram (RGU) is a diagnostic test commonly performed in males in which the x-ray of the urethra is done using a contrast dye. RGU is used to diagnose urethral pathologies such as trauma or injury to the urethra or urethral stricture. It is a painless procedure and does not involve any injections. Local anesthesia may be introduced in some cases when there is any discomfort.
