Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My partner and I had our first intercourse three months ago, and we used condoms during that time. She had her period for seven days. Two months ago, we had sex on the day before her period; a month later, on the second week, she had her period, but it only lasted around five days, and she had a fever. Then, in the second week of last month, she got her period, which lasted just five days, and she developed a fever after her period. Lately, we had sex last week. All the while, we used condoms when we had sex, and after two days, she developed terrible lower left back pain and she had a fever till today. Is she pregnant? Please assist me.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Considering her symptoms, she has been diagnosed with acute salpingitis. I suggest that you give her the following medications:

  1. Take a tablet of Acetaminophen (Paracetamol) 500 mg after food - thrice a day.

  2. Take a tablet of Diclofenac (NSAID) 100 mg after food twice a day.

  3. Take a capsule of Piroxicam 40 mg (NSAID) after food - thrice a day.

  4. Take tablet Artemether 100 mg (antimalarial) after food - thrice a day.

  5. Take tablet Metronidazole 400 mg (anti-anaerobic) after food - thrice a day.

  6. Take a capsule of Co-Amoxiclav 625 mg (antibiotic) after food twice a day.

If your symptoms persist, schedule another appointment for follow-up.

I hope this helps. Thank you.
