These lymphoid tissues are found in the gastrointestinal tract, pharynx, thyroid gland, breasts, salivary glands, the eyes, and the skin. Scattered lymphoid tissues comprises of 50 % of all the lymphoid tissues in the body and they are responsible for immune response in the mucous membranes.
