Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been married for two months and cannot have vaginal intercourse with my husband because of pain and fear. We tried having intercourse, but I felt a lot of pain when the penis entered my vagina. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

It can be due to various factors, including

  1. Dryness is caused by infection, insufficient foreplay, dehydration, age-related changes, and hormonal imbalances. I suggest you try natural methods to increase lubrication, such as extending foreplay or using lubricants like KY Gel (water, glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Chlorhexidine gluconate, Gluconolactone, Methylparaben, Sodium hydroxide).

  2. Injury from dryness, especially during deep penetration or certain sexual positions.

  3. Local infections, if any, please share a picture for confirmation.

  4. Vaginismus is a fear during sex that can cause the muscles in the genital area to contract, leading to pain for both partners. To address this issue, I suggest increasing the duration of foreplay, which may help reduce fear and improve comfort.

  5. Congenital abnormalities.

  6. History of genital surgery.

  7. Cervical injury caused by penetration.

  8. Fibroids - An abdomen ultrasound is needed to confirm this diagnosis.

Please provide more details about the issue so we can work on a diagnosis and develop a management plan.

I hope this helps.
