Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Does having sex increase estrogen hormone? Will it result in belly fat and sagging breast in women? Is it true or a myth? Please explain.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
All these are false beliefs and let me explain it to you. Whether you have sex or not any lady who puts on weight will have sagging of breast, belly fat, and increase of hormone estrogen. When you have sex, only testosterone hormone is increased in females, which gives a final orgasm or pleasure of sex. Due to the manipulation of the breast during sex repeatedly, the shape of the breast may change, and it will sag. When a lady puts on weight, the typical obesity is called "lemon on toothpick" appearance. Fat is mainly around thighs, breast (one more reason for sagging breast), waist, lower abdomen or belly and upper arm. The hands (below elbow) and legs (below knees) will be thin.
This fat gets converted in the body to estrogen - the female hormone. You would have seen obese men developing breast, which is the fat converted into estrogen and forming breasts, so also girls develop periods at the younger age if they are obese. So, sex has nothing to do with any of these features.
