Silent sinus syndrome is an uncommon disorder characterized by hypoglobus (inferior eye displacement) and enophthalmos (backward displacement of the eyeball). It is mainly caused by orbital floor resorption and maxillary sinus hypoplasia in patients aging between 30 and 40. A CT (computed tomography) scan is used to diagnose this condition. Surgical management includes antrostomy, and non-surgical management uses hyaluronic acid gel to relieve symptoms after surgery.
