I have uneven skin tone. What skin brightening remedies help?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I like my skin tone very much, but I have pigmented skin. I see a lot of discoloration on my face, near my eyes, and mouth. I have consulted a dermatologist, and he recommended Vichy cream overnight, which helped me a lot in getting an even skin tone.

But the wrinkles around my eyes are still there, which makes me look aged. I have a deep tan on my hands, neck, and feet.

Please suggest a body lotion to get an even skin tone.

Please suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and can understand your concern.

I have reviewed your history and seen the photographs (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). Use Onetone cream on the affected parts twice daily. You can continue this treatment for four weeks and revert, as a reduction in pigmentation will take time. You should also use Cetaphil cleansing lotion for sensitive skin to wash your face, and also take an antioxidant like Antoxid HC capsules daily for two to three months.

Besides this, avoid going out in the sun and use an umbrella, sunglasses, a hat, and a scarf whenever you are out in the sun. Apply sunscreen on the entire face at intervals of three to four hours during the daytime, and apply under-eye cream and Onetone cream 10 minutes before the sunblock application during the daytime.

Also, include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet and ensure you have at least six to seven hours of sound sleep. Go for facials with less scrubbing and those that include masks, as this will help with your dry skin.

The probable causes are hormonal, genetic, and sun-induced. The possible diagnosis is perioral and periorbital pigmentation.

I hope this answers your query.

Let me know if I need to assist you further.

Thank you.
