Can Tezspire be self-injected for asthma treatment?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Insurance has approved Tezspire for my severe asthma, but the closest administration facility is a three-hour drive each way. Wondering about self-administration at home instead. My hands have some tremor from years of oral steroids and Albuterol.
Watched a video of a patient doing self-injection, but it seems complicated. In simple terms, how difficult is the self-administration technique compared to other injections? My local primary care doctor is unfamiliar with medication and unwilling to administer it in the office. Monthly travel is becoming a barrier to consistent treatment.
Does injection site matter for effectiveness? Storage requirements seem complicated too. What training resources available for patients? Need practical solutions to maintain treatment despite geographic challenges.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
This injection should be taken by an experienced person in the facility where it is given regularly.
Because this is a temperature-sensitive drug, any mistake in it will make the whole drug molecule inactive. So, do not try it at home.
Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
