Thalamic Infarct

A thalamic infarct is a type of stroke that affects the thalamus. This leads to loss of sensations, difficulty in balancing and movements, difficulty in speech, memory loss, loss of interest, lack of sleep, vision disorders, etc. The stroke is caused due to blockage in the blood vessel supplying the thalamus. Treatment is done by dissolving the clot using medication or using clot removal procedures.
