Can psoriasis cause vaginal infection?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am having serious health issues. My vagina is always discharging and smelling like rotten eggs and it is very pungent. Every time I go to the doctor, they tell me I do not have any STDs. I am always itching down below. I suffer from psoriasis and I am always having inflammation that would not go away. I do not feel comfortable going around anyone because of the smell coming through my clothes. I do not know what to do and I am giving up. This problem has been going on for years. I was ruling it a vaginal recto fistula or whatever they call it. Please help.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Regarding your symptoms of vaginal discharge with egg-smelling feelings despite no improvement in treatment, I propose you have developed a chronic resistant pelvic inflammatory disease. Do a high vaginal and endo cervical swab test and reply to me with the result and please take the following for the ailment.

  1. Take an injection of Ceftriaxone for 14 days

  2. 2 % Gyno-Daktarin (Miconazole nitrate) vaginal insertion twice a day.

  3. Take a tablet of Metronidazole 400 mg thrice a day.

  4. Take a capsule of Co-Amoxiclav 625 mg twice daily.

  5. Take a tablet of Ketoconazole 200 mg.

  6. Take a tablet of Acyclovir 800 mg twice daily.

If your symptoms persist, schedule another follow-up appointment via chat, phone, or video consultation.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
