Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have a white bump on my penis for the last six months. I do not know what it is, and it is not going away. There are two white bumps on the head and behind the penis. Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
I checked the picture (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). If there was unprotected sex, one needs to think of sexually transmitted infection. I suggest you undergo the following tests:
1. TPHA (treponema pallidum hemagglutination).
2. HPV DNA PCR test (human papillomavirus with genotyping polymerase chain reaction).
3. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) one and two IgG (immunoglobulin G).
4. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) one and two IgM (immunoglobulin M) serum.
5. Chlamydia trachomatis IgG.
6. HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) one and two antibodies, screening test.
7. HbsAg (hepatitis B surface antigen).
8. Urine complete.
If not, it can be a simple bacterial infection. You can use ointment containing Mupirocin for local application and Doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for five days. If there is itching, you need to think of a fungal infection. I suggest you use an ointment containing Beclomethasone and Clotrimazole for local application and for itching, use the tablet Cetirizine once a night. Make sure you wash your genitalia twice a day, in the morning and at night, with normal water. Do not use cold or hot water. Do not use heavy pH soap.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards.
