Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
It has been a week since I had my wisdom teeth removed, and I am having pain and nasty liquid-like stuff in my mouth. I am not sure how to tell if it is infected, or dry socket, or if it is normal.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
Do not worry, I am here to take care of you. Regarding your symptoms, it seems to be post-tooth extraction gingivitis (inflammation of the gums). It is a serous fluid, which is normal after tooth extraction.
Please take the following medications: Amoxicillin 500 mg and Clavulanic acid 125 mg orally twice daily for one week, and tablet Metronidazole 400 mg (antibiotic) orally twice daily for one week. Consult your doctor and take the medicines accordingly. I hope this helps. Schedule another appointment for follow-up.
I hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you.
