Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had sex with my girlfriend and used a condom for most of the time. I did not ejaculate as well but we have a doubt about precum and we do not want to take any risk. What should we prefer just to make sure that she does not get pregnant?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If your concern is about the precum (which is known to contain live sperms) then to avoid unplanned pregnancy you can ask her to take an emergency contraceptive pill like an I-pill which can be taken within 72 hours post intercourse. It has a 99 % success rate.

I hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Do I need to have a prescription? We do not have any past medical conditions.

Answered by Dr. Sameer Kumar

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I guess emergency contraception (I-pill) does not require any prescription and is available as an OTC drug.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
