Angiomyolipomas are benign tumors that form in the kidney. The exact cause is unknown, but certain changes (mutations) in genes may play a role. People with angiomyolipoma have symptoms, including anemia, fever, kidney pain, hypertension, nausea, and vomiting. Treatment to stop the growth or to remove the tumor includes ablation therapy, arterial embolization, and complete nephrectomy.
